Plan around the season
Five’s potato export season starts in January. Our current product page lists fresh potatoes from January to June, subject to variety and availability. Selected processing varieties may be available from cold storage from July to November, subject to stock and specifications. These windows are planning guidance, not confirmation of availability for a particular shipment. Confirm your variety, quantity and loading window when requesting a quotation.
Choose potatoes for their intended use
For fresh consumption, the current range lists Spunta, Mondial, Annabelle and Synergy. Processing varieties listed include Hermes, Agria, Santana and Lady Rosetta. Availability must be confirmed for each order.
For table potatoes, explain your market’s preferred appearance, size and packaging. For processing potatoes, state whether the intended use is crisps, French fries or another application. Agree any required dry matter, reducing sugar, fry colour or trial requirements before ordering; a variety name alone does not guarantee processing performance.

Define a specification that can be quoted
Include the variety or intended use, required diameter range in millimetres, quantity, bag weight and preferred loading window. Clarify whether the quantity is a trial order or a recurring requirement. Agree acceptable tolerances and any requirements for washing, soil, skin condition, defects, sprouting or labelling before the order is confirmed.
The product page lists 40+ mm, 45+ mm, 40–60 mm, 50+ mm, 55+ mm and 60+ mm options. It also lists 10 kg and 25 kg bags and 1,250 kg jumbo bags. Confirm which combination is available for your variety and shipment. Custom packaging is subject to order specifications and quantity.
Request current weekly pricing
Potato prices are updated weekly during the season. Request a quotation for your required specification and shipment window rather than relying on a fixed price in a guide. Ask the quotation to identify currency, price basis, included services, destination where relevant, validity and payment terms. Availability and freight must be reconfirmed before commitment.
Confirm destination requirements before shipment
Before ordering, ask your importer or customs broker to confirm the current requirements for the destination and intended use. Agree the documentation, inspections, phytosanitary requirements, residue specifications and labelling that apply to the shipment. Do not assume that the same documents or market access conditions apply to every country.
If your buyer requires a certification, request current evidence and check its scope and validity before making it a contractual requirement. This guide does not claim that Five holds any particular certification or that every destination is currently served.
Agree handling and logistics
State your destination country and port, required delivery window and preferred trade term. Confirm loading arrangements, packaging, ventilation or temperature requirements with the supplier and logistics provider for the variety, condition and end use. Agree the inspection and claims procedure in writing. Do not treat one storage temperature or transit time as suitable for every potato shipment.
